This is a good book of prayers, going through the entire Gospel of Luke, with excerpts of each chapter followed by a one-paragraph prayer. When Berenice asked me to look over it, she didn’t realize how fitting that was, since I happened to be reading the book of Luke at the time.The prayers are heartfelt, sometimes touching and moving, and after reading these Scripture passages, I think I would have prayed similar prayers myself. Not in every case, of course, but it just shows how the Lord’s Spirit works in all of us in similar ways.
I think the book would be an interesting and inspiring gift for Christian friends, for those new to the faith or those who have trouble expressing themselves in prayer, since it’s full of sample prayers, so to speak. Written prayers can be very helpful. Some of the prayers bring out spiritual lessons (though not in a preachy way), and others have blanks where you can insert your name as you pray them. And, of course, you can use these prayers as prayer primers and go on to add your own prayers at the end.
There are little drawbacks in the grammar, and a great need of more commas in places, but those are minor flaws all in all in a good book.

This is a great book to help us learn to pray more. It gives us a good insights into the book of Luke.
This is a great way to read the scriptures and have short prayers to go with them. I read it as part of my daily reading and it brings great comfort to me.
This devotional prayer book through the Gospel of Luke has been an inspiration in my morning disciplines. The prayers at the end of each section have been right where I have been with God. This has been a refreshing approach to my prayer time.
The book is exactly as the title says Praying Through the Gospel of Luke. A passage of Scripture is quoted followed by a beautiful prayer based on the theme of the Scripture reading. The author's goal is to inspire readers to pray their own heart-felt prayers, and she gives excellent examples in the prayers she includes.
The author provided a free copy of the book for me in exchange for an honest review.
Whether you are a new or seasoned Christian, this resource, Praying Through the Gospel of Luke will be an excellent tool to jumpstart your prayer life and reflectively pray the Scriptures. Author Berenice Aguilera states her purpose in writing this book. "This book is meant to be a springboard to you praying your own prayers and not a collection of set prayers. "

I have used this book as a daily devotion. Each small, successive portion has the verses and caption followed by the Scriptures and easy readability. At the end of each section I was able to use the prayer as a model that highlighted the main theme and how it is to be applied practically in daily living. Here is a brief sample of a prayer given after Jesus was at the temple when he was 12 years old in chapter 2. "I want to be about my Father's business. I want to be able to explain to others the marvels of your word and the hope you have given us… I pray that even as Mary pondered your words in her heart, that I too would consider your word deeply during the day. Amen "
Learn through prayer how God allows trials and difficulties in order to strengthen faith and develop perseverance. Luke 6 will be a lesson to be careful to not self righteously judge others. From John the Baptist to the birth of Christ and His life, trials, death and ascension this meditative book will draw you closer to the Lord and help you worship Him in Spirit and truth.
I love this book. It turned out to be a blessing for me as it taught me to slow down and truly ponder each word of the gospel. It didn't happen at first as I read the first two chapters like I would read any book. But, all of a sudden it clicked. This isn't my usual book a day fast track mystery. These words are from our Lord. And, the funny thing is that I am a prayer warrior. I have witnessed how much power there is in talking to God. I read the Bible. I thought I knew the stories. But, I have never in all my life just read one book chapter once a day. When it clicked in my head to slow down and grasp each spiritual story, I wondered why I was never taught to read the Bible this way. And the prayers that followed were excellent. Sometimes I would feel a different message, but that's how the Holy Spirit works. I hope to see more books like this one from Berenice. My favorite book is James. Thank you Berenice for such a thought provoking book. It is now part of my daily devotions.
